Top 2012 Big Man Remains Open

Tony Parker was dominant with nearly a 20 point and 20 rebound performance at Flyin to the Hoop. With that it is no surprise that schools such as Duke, Ohio State, Florida, and others are really pursuing him heavily on the recruiting trail.

For Lithonia (GA) Miller Grove big man Tony Parker the season has been an excellent one. The Wolverines are currently rated in the top five in the country, and Parker is leading them with his dominating play down low.

Parker has been outstanding all year long. The 6-foot-9 and 260 pounder is in very good shape, plays hard, and his teammates are feeding off of him. With that recipe it is no surprise that Miller Grove has turned into one of the top teams in the country.

"We're playing really well right now," said Parker. "We are just trying to get better every game and stay focused."

Throughout his high school career Parker has constantly been transforming his body and getting into better shape. He is now far and away in the best physical condition of his life, and oddly Parker gives some credit to an injury for that improvement.

"It's just getting in the gym," explained Parker. "I broke my wrist so all I could do was run. It is just a matter of getting into better shape every day in practice and playing hard."

Parker says that West Virginia is the newest school to begin picking up the pace on the recruiting trail. The Mountaineers join Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida, Ohio State, Tennessee, Louisville, Duke, Clemson, and a whole host of others recruiting the big man.

So far this season Parker has had a chance to take unofficial visits to Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida, and Ohio State.

For Parker the visit to Ohio State was the only one out of the region, and he came away impressed with what he saw from the Buckeyes.

"It is a great school," Parker said of Ohio State. "I like all of the coaches and the players are nice. It is a real good school."

Also the reigning national champions, Duke, have been very active in recruiting Parker, and it is something he is taking note of.

"Duke has picked it up a whole lot," said Parker. "It is good to have Coach K coming to your games. It is honestly a blessing."

With everything picking up on the recruiting trail Parker is just keeping a level head and insists that he is in no hurry to make any kind of quick decision.

"I'm open right now," said Parker of where he stands in his recruitment. "I am just weighing my options. I am just focused on the season."
