PA LB Loved Duke

Stephon Font-Toomer could end up playing fullback or linebacker at the next level and over the weekend he traveled to Duke to learn a bit more about their program and came away thoroughly impressed with what the Blue Devils had to offer.

Stephon Font-Toomer, a 6-foot-1, 235-pound athlete from Bethlehem Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pa., took a trip to Duke not really knowing what to expect, but when we talked to him on Thursday night he sounded pretty enthused about them.

"I went to Duke for junior day over the weekend and I liked it down there," Font-Toomer said. "I sat down and talked to Jim Knowles, the defensive coordinator, and basically talked to him about the entire recruiting process and he told me he expected to see me at camp which I do plan to attend. He's a straight-forward guy and let me know what the deal was. He said he knew me as a person and academically, but still needed to watch my highlight tape."

"We got a tour of the school, the athletic complex and just took in the entire place and I loved it there," Font-Toomer stated. "The academic side of Duke really stood out to me because you get the chance to really excel as a student-athlete when you go there. Everything was also very close together, so it was really convenient for players to get where they needed to be quickly."

Font-Toomer has been getting "real" mail from Duke and Rutgers right now and also gets pamphlets from a plethora of other programs.
