In-State QB Talks Recruiting

Karsten Miller is a 2012 quarterback prospect out of North Davidson High School in Lexington, N.C. The junior is hearing from schools across the region. With his 40 speed improved from a 4.8 to a 4.6 in the past year, Miller anticipates interest to turn to offers in the near future.

"I've been getting a lot from a bunch of schools," said the 6-3, 195-pound athlete. "Lately I've been getting a lot from Auburn and West Virginia; they're saying they're really interested.

"I'm probably gonna go to some camps this summer. I know I'm going to two at West Virginia and wanting to go to one at Auburn," he said, noting both team's offenses as what impressed him about the schools.

"I'm kind of liking West Virginia a lot right now," he continued. "Jared Barber is going there, and he was my conference rival. I kind of like knowing someone there-it makes me feel more comfortable."

Miller discussed the potential of first offers.

"A coach from Wake Forest came to my school a few weeks ago. They came in and watched film, and I think they were really wanting to offer," he said.

"I like Wake too because my cousin just committed to play basketball, and we were just talking about if we went to school together."

While he cited Wake as a possible offer, he described hearing from a different school more regularly.

"I'm hearing from Coach Lubick at Duke the most," Miller said. "I visited on November 6 and liked the coaches a lot. They told me how they're trying to turn the program around and that I'd be a good addition.

"I got to talk to their backup quarterback Anthony Boone and really liked the facilities."

Miller highlighted his strengths as, "arm and passing ability—throwing is definitely my best thing. I'm kind of a sneaky runner."
