Palmetto State Safety Gets An Offer

This big time recruit attended the annual Spring Game and got face time & an offer from the coaches.

Ronald Geohaghan, a 6-foot-2, 190 pound safety from Fairfax, South Carolina attended the Duke Spring Game on Saturday and came away with a scholarship offer.

"I just left Duke a few minutes ago and they offered me," said Geohaghan. "I got to see them practice and before we left coach Jones offered me. I also got a chance to meet with coach Cutcliffe."

Duke becomes his ninth offer, joining Clemson, East Carolina, Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Tulane, and Vanderbilt.

As a junior Geohaghan recorded 97 tackles, 38 assisted tackles, 7 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, and 10 tackles for loss.

Most schools are recruiting the Fairfax, SC prospect as a safety, but not everyone.

"I can play cornerback and I play fullback, too," he said. "It's kind of funny because on my team I play linebacker and they move me around a lot. I'm 6-1 1/2 and 193 pounds. Track and field helps me a lot. My best time in the 100 is 10.89 seconds, so all of that makes a big difference when I play cornerback. Most (corners) are 5-8 or 5-9, and I'm 6-1 1/2 but I run like a small guy."
