Wray: "Just Give Me A Shot"

Carlos Wray is a 2012 defensive end out of Shelby, NC. He's made junior day visits to Clemson, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Duke, who offered him his first scholarship. Although still at one offer, Wray's confidence combined with his athletic focus are sure to generate added attention in the near future.

"I've made a proposal," the 6-3, 246 pound athlete said assuredly. "All I need is a shot. If you give me a shot, I guarantee you're going to want to offer me. I work hard, I believe in myself, and if I mess up I want to try it again; you don't have to tell me, I'll do it on my own."

Wray has received interest from a number of other ACC Schools.

"I'm hearing a lot from Wake Forest, and Georgia Tech and Clemson kind of come and go. Georgia sends me things too," he added of the Bulldogs, whose spring game he opted out of to visit Wake Forest again instead.

Wray described his interest in the different schools.

"I like Wake Forest- I like the players there, and I like the coaches there. I told the coaches that the main difference between there and Duke is that Duke has offered," he explained.

"Clemson has a family-like environment, and Duke has a fire behind the coaches and players; they're all for getting back into the ACC Championship. At Wake I can tell they're pretty much fired up as well.

"At Georgia Tech I like Coach Johnson; he's a different kind of coach. Most coaches just tell you things, but he was more like, look at this and you tell me what you think about it. He's kind of more modest."

Wray will attend camp at Auburn this summer, which he informed Coach Fountain of directly.

"I told him I'll be attending camp this summer and by the end he'll know my name, my number, and want to offer," Wray said.

In a future program Carlos Wray is looking for tradition, program stability and disciplined players.
