"I'm doing good. They got me playing strong safety right now and I like that, blitzing a lot. We're playing St. Cloud and Evans," said Ryan Bishop.
At 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, Bishop finished last season with 112 tackles, 8 TFL, and one pick. He talked about recruiting.
"Not yet (on offers) but I just got my highlight done so that should help. Eastern Michigan, UCF, Tulane, schools have been coming by and talking to me. They're just touching base."
A few schools jump out to Bishop right now.
"Right now, I don't care. Duke is a good school. USF for sure. Any Division 1 school really."
So what is he looking for in a school?
"For sure, the education and if the football program is headed in the right direction, and my ability to make a difference early."
As a prospect: At 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, Bishop has ideal size for a Div 1 linebacker already. He was very active and made a lot of plays last season for a very solid Olympia defense. He plays with good instincts, knows the game very well, and is around the ball a lot. He can show some pop as a tackler, too. He doesn't have great sideline to sideline speed but his instincts help him get in good position to make a lot of plays. He should generate some Div 1 interest in the coming months leading into spring football.
