"I'm planning on visiting Duke during the first weekend in June," said Johnson. "I've got a pretty good relationship with the coaches there and I'm very interested in seeing the campus and learning more about the program."
Johnson claims an offer from Duke and says he's also fielding interest from Northwestern, Stanford, California, and others. Most of the schools on Johnson's list are among the nation's elite academic institutions. Something that isn't going to change.
"A school's academics are the top factor [in my decision]. At the end of the day that's what a college decision is about. If football only has four or five more years for me, I want to have a degree I can fall back on from a great school."
Which is a big part of the Duke recruiting pitch.
"They are talking about the combination of academics and athletics mainly. It's something I'm looking forward to checking out when I get out there."
At 6'1 and 190 pounds, Johnson claims a 4.55 time in the forty yard dash.
