The 6-foot-4, 220 pound quarterback has spent the off-season quickening his release to get the ball off faster. He's also spent time in the film room.
"I've been learning the game more. Watching film has helped me learn different defenses."
When he's not in the film room this summer, he'll be attending different camps. He is already scheduled to go to Ohio State, Indiana and Cincinnati. But he'll be adding more to that list as time goes on.
McCollister has already made his way visiting different schools all over, including Duke, Akron and Ohio.
Even after his visits are over, don't look for a commitment soon.
"I'll probably do it after my senior season," said McCollister.
And when he is ready to decide, he's looking for some specific information from the coaches.
"I want to know where they see me playing and how much possible playing time I could get. Also what kind of offense they run."
