Duke Opens Practice For Preseason Trip

The Blue Devil are allowed 10 preseason practices before leaving for the Far East.

DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke men's basketball team wrapped up its first two days of practice on Monday in preparation for its foreign trip to China and Dubai in August. With a team featuring nine returning letterwinners and five newcomers the opening practices featured a lot of high-energy action, a heavy dose of defensive intensity and several teaching moments.

Veterans Miles Plumlee, Seth Curry and Andre Dawkins excelled over the first two days, while Ryan Kelly, Tyler Thornton, Josh Hairston and Mason Plumlee also gave strong performances. Duke's highly-touted freshman class of Quinn Cook, Michael Gbinije, Alex Murphy, Marshall Plumlee and Austin Rivers showcased their talents and gained valuable practice experience in the Duke system.
