What is it about each school that stands out to the three-star athlete?
Duke: "I really like that it's academically strong. I'm taking my official visit up there on Friday this week, so I'll know more after that."
Vanderbilt: "I went up there on an unofficial this summer. I really like the coaching staff, and I like that they're building a new program there, that really interests me. And of course, their academics are great."
Reno: "I took my official there like two weeks ago. I love my recruiter coach (Mike) Bradeson; he's the best. The visit was pretty fun, I had a good time. I liked the players, I liked the coaches, and I liked the people supporting the team. It was a pretty fun time."
SDSU: "I feel like they're making good progress. San Diego is a beautiful city, I wouldn't mind living there and it's on the west. I think that SDSU will be good in the future."
Powell hopes to take official visits to Vanderbilt and SDSU as well.
"That'll probably be in January if I do, or maybe the weekend after Duke," he shares.
If he feels it is right, the 5-foot-9, 200-pound tailback says he isn't afraid to pull the trigger.
"I'll make the decision whenever I feel comfortable enough at a school to commit to it," he says. "It could be soon, it could be in February, but the way I'm feeling now is that it could happen at any moment."
