Devils Jump In First With '13 D-Lineman

Duke became the first school to offer a 2013 defensive lineman on Saturday and he is excited about the news.

"I stay in contact with Duke and I called them on Saturday and Coach [Drew] Dayton told me I have an offer from them. He told me they saw my film, that they think I am athletic, and they like what I do as a defensive lineman," said De'Asian Richardson.

The offer from Duke came unexpectedly, but Richardson is very excited about it.

"I would have to say the offer caught me off guard. I did not see it coming at all. I have been talking to them for a while, but I did not think they would offer me today.

"I am happy to have my first offer. Its feels good to have this one, so hopefully I will get more."

The 6-foot-4, 270 pound junior out of Orange Park, Fla. has no favorites at this time. He plans to visit Duke early in 2012 and he plans to look at as many schools as he can.

"I have done a little research about Duke and I am looking to visit them in February. I grew up a Miami fan, but I do not have a top school yet.

"I am hearing a lot from South Florida, Florida, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Vanderbilt right now along with Duke. I am interested in all of them."
