In France, league action took a backseat to the round of 32 in the national cup competition, which featured teams from all divisions. Carrem Gay and Toulouse faced fellow second division team Limoges and won a low-scoring affair 51-40. Carrem had 6 points and 5 rebounds in 23 minutes as she battled foul trouble. The two Duke players in the top flight both faced teams from the third-tier of the league and no statistics were available but Krystal Thomas apparently had a good game in Lyon's 78-72 win over La Tronche Meylan. Sunday action started in China, where the New Year's break is now over. Shavlik Randolph and the Dongguan Leopards had a tough game against the Zhejiang Lions and lost 114-109 on the road. Shavlik had 29 points and 8 rebounds in 35 minutes and Josh Akognon had 40 points, but it was not enough. Wilson Chandler had 28 points and 10 rebounds in the loss and brief NBA player Peter John Ramos had 21 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
