In addition to the meeting with the coaching staff, Richardson says he had a chance to really see what Duke is all about.
"I had a chance to see their new indoor facility and their new practice field as well. After that we got a tour of the campus and I had a chance to go inside the Duke Chapel. It's beautiful. I also had a chance to go to the St.John's basketball game, which was great."
Richardson, who has interest from a number of high major programs including Florida, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, and South Florida, says he's not in a rush to narrow down schools just yet. Noting that he's still hearing from new schools each day. Still, Duke continues to be the first in a number of areas.
"They were the first to offer me. The offer came a week or so before Christmas and they asked me to come up for their Junior Day. I had been talking with the coaches a lot and was happy to be offered."
The Blue Devils are recruiting Richardson as a defensive lineman, though the 6'4, 270 pounder has played a number of positions while at Orange Park.
"I've played defensive end and tight end the most, and right now I'd say I prefer playing tight end. I've got good hands and like getting the ball. I've also lined up at receiver and running back this year."
In addition to Duke, Richardson reports an offer from South Florida. He says notes his preference would be to stay in Florida but he's "willing to go wherever a school is willing to give me a scholarship."
