Recruiting: Duke COMMIT
Notable: Edwards didn't start playing football until eighth grade.
"My parents taught me football. They encouraged me to study the game, so when I did start playing, I was ready for both the physical and mental side of it all."
"I studied a lot with my uncle, who played at Notre Dame (Benny Guilbeaux.) He was a safety. He looked at my build, and knew immediately I was made for corner."
"We would sit down and spent countless hours dissecting game film," said Edwards. "Dissecting every part of the defensive side of the ball, and every play I was involved in."
"We broke down every part of the game- stance, hand position, how to jam someone, how to flip your hips, which way to open up in certain positions, which way to turn your head in coverages, everything."
Junior Stats: 38 Tackles, 6 interceptions, 4 pass break-ups, 2 blocked field goals, 1 blocked punt, and 3 fumble recoveries.
Analysis: "On the visit my family and I had a really long conversation with Coach Cutcliffe. We talked for more than 45 minutes. The whole Duke staff is really big on family and commitment to one another. You have a coach who has won a National Title at Tennessee and who has coached the best players in the NFL. Those players come back to him and meet with him long after they are done with college. That's something you don't see everywhere, and honestly how can you turn that down?"
Edwards says he hopes to major in Business in Durham.
