"I think Tom O'Brien is a great coach. He really knows the game, he is a good man, and I think he is going to do well at N.C. State. I also like the players, I think they are cool. I know I will visit them again."
Before visiting NCSU, the 6-foot, 185 pound athlete out of Graham (N.C.) Southern Alamance spent time at Duke and South Carolina.
Each school had things he liked.
"Duke is a very nice school and I got to look around, see their new indoor facility, and then watch their spring game. It was a nice experience and I feel they are on the up-and-up. I like the coaches they have there.
"I went to South Carolina to watch one of their spring practices and I got to see them scrimmage against each other. I got to take the campus tour, I got to see the facilities, and it was all nice. Coach [Steve] Spurrier is a good coach too and I like him."
No school in particular stands out to this top sophomore right now. He is just taking it all in, building those relationships, and seeing all that he can see this early in the process.
"I am really trying to get a feel for an many schools I can right now," he said. "I want to see different places, meet the coaches, and just get a feel for things at the schools. I know that will help me when I get closer to a decision."
No more visits are scheduled for this spring, but Lloyd does have plans to visit Florida and Ohio State this summer.
He has offers from Duke, Florida, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech.
Lloyd could play wide receiver or defensive back on the next level.
