International Alumni Update: April 23

Tracking former Blue Devils playing their professional ball overseas

On Friday, Nick Horvath and the Manawatu Jets were back in action against the Otago Nuggets and won 103-79.  Nick had 29 points and 15 rebounds in 34 minutes.  His newest American teammate, ex-Oregon State player Marcel Jones, added 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists and Josh Pace had 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.  In the loss, ex-South Carolina player Antoine Tisby had 22 points and 10 rebounds and ex-Kansas State player Akeem Wright had 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists.  Here is the box score.

  DeMarcus Nelson and Cholet continued on their winning streak after winning 85-70 over Paris-Levallois.  DeMarcus had 10 points in 33 minutes as Patrick Christopher had 16 points and William Gradit had 11 points.  In the loss, ex-St. John's player Lamont Hamilton had 16 points and 6 rebounds, ex-North Carolina player Jawad Williams had 13 points, ex-Illinois player Trenton Meacham had 12 points, and ex-Colorado player Michel Morandais had 11 points.  Here is the box score.

  Shavlik Randolph and the Quebradillas Pirates faced the San German Athletics and won it right at the end 83-81.  Shavlik had 17 points and 15 rebounds in 37 minutes.  Peter John Ramos had 20 points and 8 rebounds, David Huertas had 17 points, Jamar Butler had 13 points, and Joel Jones had 11 points.  In the loss, ex-Rice player Mike Harris had 28 points and 9 rebounds, ex-VCU player Joey Rodriguez had 17 points, and ex-Troy player Richard Chaney had 11 points.  Here is the box score.

  On Saturday, Jess Foley and the Norwood Flames played the Southern Tigers and won 78-61.  Jess led all scorers with 27 points and added 8 rebounds in 32 minutes.  Amy Lewis had 14 points and Marisa Stabile had 12 points.

  Jasmine Thomas and Frisco Brno had a tough Game 2 in the finals and lost again to USK Prague 88-61.  Jasmine had 2 points in 34 minutes.  The stars played the biggest role in the win again with DeLisha Milton-Jones scoring 15 points and grabbing 18 rebounds and Lindsay Whalen scoring 12 points.  Here is the box score.

  Before Bridgette Mitchell and Energa Torun can finish their season, they have to play out the series for 3rd place and they won Game 1 over Lotos Gdynia 85-78.  Bridgette had a huge game with 24 points and 10 rebounds in 21 minutes.  Julie Page had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Leah Metcalf had 17 points and 8 assists.  In the loss, ex-Florida player Aneika Henry had 19 points and ex-Wisconsin player Jolene Anderson had 15 points and 7 rebounds.  Here is the box score.

  In France, Mistie Bass and Challes fell in Game 2 of the semi-finals 78-58 to Lattes Montpellier to create a Game 3 in midweek.  Mistie had 16 points in 35 minutes and Danielle Page had 10 points and 11 rebounds.  Ex-WNBA player Edwiges Lawson-Wade had 14 points and 6 assist in the win.  Here is the box score.

 In the second division, Carrem Gay and Toulouse continued to put themselves in good position to fight for promotion after beating Dunkerque 69-54.  Carrem had 4 points in 10 minutes.  Here is the box score.

  On Sunday, Marty Pocius, Kyle Singler, and Real Madrid had a local rivalry game against Estudiantes and overcame a slow start for an 85-80 win.  Marty got the start and had 4 points in 15 minutes and Kyle had 9 points in 24 minutse off the bench.  Jaycee Carroll led the team with 25 points.  In the loss, ex-Iona player Tariq Kirksay had 10 points.  Here is the box score.

  Daniel Ewing did not play in Azovmash's 77-72 win in Game 3 against Hoverla.

  Bridgette Mitchell and Energa Torun had a quick turnaround for Game 2 against Lotos Gdynia for third-place and used a strong 2nd quarter to win 83-74.  Bridgette had another good game with 19 points in 29 minutes before fouling out.  Jazmine Sepulveda had 20 points and Julie Page had 14 points and 11 rebounds.  In the loss, Jolene Anderson had 24 points and 7 assists and Aneika Henry had 11 points and 11 rebounds.  Here is the box score.
