Devils land 3 star WR

One player that blew up in the Spring evaluation period was Dunbar's Johnell Barnes. The 6'0 wide receiver was the Nike Camp wide receiver MVP in April and proved that he can play with anyone. On Tuesday he made his commitment.

Dunbar high school hit the road a week ago on a trip that was going to take them to Florida, Valdosta State, Georgia, South Carolina, Clemson, North Carolina, Duke, Tennessee, and Auburn. Over 14 players made the trip and a couple of commitments were expected.

Barnes brings difference making potential to two positions
Geoff Vogt,

The first one to pop was wide receiver Johnell Barnes. "I committed to Duke today. Ever since they offered me, they have been my favorite, and I have spent a lot time researching them. It is just such an outstanding opportunity."

Barnes was a quarterback as a sophomore, wide receiver as a junior, and many believe that cornerback is his best position, "I don't really care where I play. Right now I think my best position is wide receiver and I feel I can make an immediate impact at that spot."

Duke has enjoyed a lot of success with receivers from the state of Florida. Both Conner Vernon and Donavan Varner are record setting receivers, "Duke is going to throw the ball, the offense sets up perfect for me and I feel I am set up to succeed. I know with hard work I can really make an impact here."

With schools such as Florida State, Georgia, and Auburn taking long looks at him, how firm is the commitment? "Very firm. I have made my decision. I look forward to playing for Coach Cutcliffe and I am now part of the Duke family."
