California DB waiting for offers

When making a trip across the country for camp, it's a given that players are hoping to come away with an offer. That didn't happen for this California WR/DB. At least not yet.

"I'm currently still waiting on my first offer," said Bellflower (Calif.) Bosco cornerback Arlandis Hinton. "Right now the schools showing the most interest are Oregon State, San Jose State, Stanford, San Diego State, Air Force, and some of the Ivy League programs."

Still, Hinton made the cross country journey to Durham to camp with the Blue Devils recently in hopes of showing out well enough to garner a scholarship offer. He also had a chance to look around the campus.

"I really thought the Duke campus and program was great. It's a really beautiful place and the coaches were really cool as well."

At 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, Hinton was clocked with a 4.49 forty time and projects as either a receiver or corner back at the next level. During his time at Duke, Hinton spent the most time working out with the receivers, but came away unsure of the Blue Devils' interest.

"I interacting the most with Coach Lubick, and I liked him a lot. Right now, however, the coaches seemed to be more interested in the kids they had already offered. I'm hoping they will evaluate my film like they said they would and like what they see."

As he continues to wait for his first offer, Hinton says he's still hopeful to have his recruitment behind him before the end of the summer.

"I'd like to have it done by then, but if I need to wait then I'll wait for the right opportunity."
