Florida OL enjoyed trips; likes Duke

Shawn Curtis is a standout offensive line prospect from Olympia High in Orlando and Scout has the latest.

"At the beginning of the summer I went to Duke, North Carolina, NC State, and Wake Forest. That went real well," Shawn Curtis said.

"I plan on going to Florida State on the 18th and 19th. Me and Coach Trickett have always kept in close touch. They say they like my footwork and I should be getting one soon."

Curtis, 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, talked about each of the four schools he visited earlier this summer.

Duke – "It was a beautiful campus and they have a great coaching staff."

UNC – "I like them a lot, too. I like the O-Line coach. We keep in touch a lot."

NC State – "They were probably my favorite. I really like the campus life and all the coaches."

Wake – "They're another good one. I like the offensive line coach and my recruiting coach. They haven't offered me yet."

Curtis knows he has offers from two of those schools.

"Duke and NC State for sure have. North Carolina offered me at one time but not with the new coaching staff."

With over a dozen offers, Curtis knows what he'll be looking for in a school.

"I'm still pretty open. I'll be looking at how I get along with the coaches, how I like the area around it, and how the degree from there will matter in my life."
