"I'm still committed," he said. "I am happy with decision I have made.
"When I went down there, I sat down with Coach (David) Cutcliffe – my family – and we had a great conversation. I liked the family atmosphere and where they are taking to program. It's easy to say I am here and we are winning, but I like being a part of rebuilding. I wanted to be able to say I was there when we were going through the process. I don't want to walk in and have everything given to me. I like to work for stuff. Academic prestige was also a big factor."
This summer he has camped at Duke, Wake Forest, N.C. State, and East Carolina. Although he is firmly committed, schools are still pursuing him extremely hard.
Edwards has big goals for this season.
"Nothing less than a state (championship) ring is acceptable," said. "Individually, I want to have eight interceptions, 40 tackles,at least two forced fumbles, and nothing less than ten pass breakups."
The 6-foot, 175-pound cornerback bench presses 250 pounds, squats 415, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.42 seconds.
