Ajeigbe talks Duke unofficial

The Norco (Calif.) running back, Joseph Ajeigbe, talks about his unofficial visits to Northwestern and Duke.

Norco (Calif.) running back Joseph Ajeigbe (5-9, 205), took in visits to Northwestern and Duke in the last week, and the three-star back said both schools left a good impression on him.

The trip started in Evanston, when he visited Northwestern.

"Northwestern was cool, and I got to spend some time talking to the players and got to see what a real good environment it is," said Ajeigbe. "It's a really good program there."

Ajeigbe got to spend time with head coach Pat Fitzgerald while there.

"I got to meet Coach Fitzgerald and he was really great," said Ajeigbe. "He really laid out not just what Northwestern football is, but what your life is like after football after Northwestern."

From Northwestern, Ajeigbe went to Durham to visit Duke.

"Duke was cool too and the town was a lot different than I was expecting," said Ajeigbe. "We got to take a tour of the school and the facilities and it was all pretty nice."

Ajeigbe's Norco teammate, Corbin McCarthy, signed with the Blue Devils in February, and now enrolled, he got to spend some time with him.

"He showed us around a little bit and that was cool getting to talk with him," said Ajeigbe.

Ajeigbe also got to speak with Duke head coach David Cutcliffe while on campus.

"Coach Cutcliffe was really cool and really makes me interested in the program and he's really building something there," said Ajeigbe.

So does Ajeigbe have a preference between either school?

"I guess I could say I'm leaning a little more towards Duke, but I am really impressed by Northwestern and being in the Big Ten and they seemed to be more up and coming," said Ajeigbe. "But with Duke, they're just missing a couple of pieces to the puzzle so they're intriguing because they're really close to being there."

Ajeigbe said he's going to visit Arizona unofficially in August.

"I plan to get out there for their fall practice and then we'll see what happens if any other schools that have been talking to me are serious about offering after the first few games," said Ajeigbe. "If not, I may decide soon."
