Renfree tossed scoring passes to wideout Conner Vernon and running back Patrick Kurunwune covering 43 and 50 yards, respectfully. Vernon and tight end Issac Blakeney each hauled in a game-best four balls on the night. Duke's rushing attack was paced by rookie back Shaquille Powell, who gained 43 yards on eight attempts.
"All in all, we had a good night," said Duke head coach David Cutcliffe following the session. "We wanted to remain healthy, and I think we did that. We will now have the opportunity to look at the film and evaluate where we are on offense, defense and in the kicking game. It was great to see some big plays on both sides of the football tonight – that is always refreshing to a head coach."
Cornerback Lee Butler also logged an interception while fellow cornerback Ross Cockrell contributed one tackle for loss and one pass break-up. Freshman placekicker Ross Martin booted field goals from 40 and 48 yards out.
The Blue Devils return to the practice field on Tuesday afternoon.
