Future Blue Devils: Week 2

The current crop of commits was in action last week, taking part in their senior seasons across the country. Here's a run down of their performances:

Joseph Ajeigbe, RB, Norco (Calif.) - Norco dropped to 1-1 on the season with a 41-25 defeat at the hands of Crenshaw.

Terrence Alls, WR, Miami (Fla.) Dade Christian - Dade Christian built an early lead and eventually cruised to a 35-26 victory in the season opener.

Darren Andrews, CB, LaPuente (Calif.) Bishop Amat - Andrews hauled in four catches for 70 yards and scored twice to help Bishop Amat roll to a 40-23 victory. The first score was a 23 yard strike over the middle. The second was a jump ball in the corner that Andrews came down with, completing a 33 yard strike.

Johnell Barnes, WR, Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar - Dunbar rebounded from a week one loss to win 45-0 over East Lee County. Barnes did his part, hauling in three catches for 57 yards with a long of 20.

Parker Boehme, QB, Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood - Boehme threw for three scores as Sandalwood rolled to a 48-20 win over Baldwin.

Breon Borders, CB, Statesville (N.C.) - The Greyhounds moved to 2-0 on the season with a 34-24 victory over Lake Norman. Borders factored in on defense, recording 10 tackles and one interception.

Gabe Brandner, OL, Columbia (S.C.) Heathwood Hall - Heathwood fell 27-21 to Porter Gaud on Friday night. We caught up with Gabe Brander about the result:

"Honestly I feel like we should have won the game, but it didn't happen," said Bradner. "We did gain over 150 yards on the ground, which is a great thing for the offensive line."

Quay Chambers, WR, Monroe (N.C.) - Monroe fell to Concord by a score of 21-7. Chambers hauled in three catches in the loss.

Austin Davis, OL, Mansfield (Tex.) - In a high scoring game, Mansfield fell 59-43 against Arlington Bowie. The Mansfield offensive line moved their opponents around to the tune of 205 yards on the ground.

T.J. Douglas, WR, Fort Myers (Fla.) - The Wolfpack opened their season with a resounding 34-0 victory over Cypress Lake.

Evrett Edwards, CB, Woodbridge (Va.) - Woodbridge extended a 14-7 halftime lead to a 27-7 margin of victory over Franklin County on Friday night.

Jake Kite, S, Roanoke (Va.) Hidden Valley - Hidden Valley won 10-0 over William Byrd on Friday to improve to 1-1 on the season. The defensive effort was led by Duke commit Jake Kite who recorded 10 solo stops, 3 assisted tackles, and them hauled in two catches for 45 yards as a receiver.

Sterling Korona, OL, San Antonio (Tex.) Reagan - Reagan fell 21-17 at the hands of Wagner on Friday.

Quay Mann, CB, Rocky Mount (N.C.) Northern Nash - The Knights fell to Tarboro by a 47-35 margin on Friday. Two of those scores were courtesy of Duke commit Quay Mann. The first on a 10 yard run, the second on a 15 yard scamper.

Mike Ramsay, DT, Marietta (Ga.) Walker School - Walker School moved to 2-0 on the season with a 30-14 home victory over Temple High on Aug 24th. Last week the team was off with a bye week.
