The current crop of commits was in action last week, taking part in their senior seasons across the country. Here's a run down of their performances:
Joseph Ajeigbe, RB, Norco (Calif.) - Norco won its way into the playoffs on Friday night with a 29-8 victory over Riverside King. Norco got TD runs of 21 and 7 yards from Ajeigbe.
Norco now stands at 6-4 on the season.
Terrence Alls, WR, Miami (Fla.) Dade Christian - Dade Christian moved to 9-0 on the season with an easy 41-0 victory over Archbishop Carroll. Alls factored into the game on both sides of the ball with three catches for 65 yards and adding an interception.
Darren Andrews, CB, LaPuente (Calif.) Bishop Amat - Andrews and Amat fell to Notre Dame 49-28 and were forced to wait to see what would happen with their playoff fate. The team's record is now 7-2-1 on the year, good enough for third in their district. Andrews recorded eight tackles in the loss.
Johnell Barnes, WR, Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar - Barnes and Dunbar have won six straight after defeating Booker 35-0. Barnes recored six catches including a 23 yard score in the second quarter to give his team a 20-0 lead.
Parker Boehme, QB, Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood - The future Blue Devil will likely miss the rest of the season after re-injuring his toe last week. Boehme was in a walking boot for this game.
Breon Borders, CB, Statesville (N.C.) - The Greyhounds improved to 11-1 on the season with an easy first round playoff victory over Enka by a score of 65-12. Borders recorded five tackles on the evening.
Gabe Brandner, OL, Columbia (S.C.) Heathwood Hall - Heathwood fell to 3-8 on the year as Hammond upended them 38-6 in the first round of the playoffs.
Quay Chambers, WR, Monroe (N.C.) - Monroe improved to 9-3 on the year with a 69-0 victory over Bishop McGuinness in the first round of the playoffs. Chambers completed all four of his passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Chambers added nine yards on the ground.
Austin Davis, OL, Mansfield (Tex.) - Mansfield beat Taunton 35-14 on Friday night on the road. Mansfield controlled the line of scrimmage and allowed their running backs 270 yards on the evening.
T.J. Douglas, WR, Fort Myers (Fla.) - Fort Myers won a third straight game,this one over Bishop Verot by a 48-7 margin, on Friday. Douglas, playing quarterback, completed 4-of-8 passes for 47 yards. Douglas added 190 yards on 16 rushes, and another 42 yards on a reception. It resulted in Douglas finding the end zone three times on the ground and one more on the catch.
Evrett Edwards, CB, Woodbridge (Va.) - Woodbridge won 14-7 over Stonewall Jackson to wrap up a playoff berth. Edwards recorded nine tackles including an interceptions in the first half. He added one catch for six yards and one rush for five on the offensive side of the ball.
Bryon Fields, CB, Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day - PD jumped to 8-4 on the season by defeating Charlotte Country Day School 24-14 on Friday night. The win moves Providence Day into the NCISAA state championship game next week. Fields was a catalyst in the second half where he had two rushes for 24 yards in the first half before exploding in the second half with two touchdown runs to finish the night with 198 yards on 18 carries.
"He's something special," said head coach Bruce Hardin, whose team will meet Charlotte Christian next week for the title. "Just his presence on the field brings out the best in those other 10 guys. He would be the first to give credit to every man out there with him but he really makes things happen."
Jake Kite, S, Roanoke (Va.) Hidden Valley - In a big rivalry game, Jake Kite and Hidden Valley beat Cave Spring 21-12. As has been his custom throughout the season, Kite factored in all over the box score. The future Blue Devil rushed twice for 62 yards and a touchdown, and added 10 tackles on defense.
Sterling Korona, OL, San Antonio (Tex.) Reagan - Reagan moved to 7-2 on the season with a 37-24 victory over Churchill High on Friday. Once again the Rattlers controlled the line of scrimmage, and allowed running back Elijah Ball to accumulate 330 yards on the ground.
Dequavais Mann, CB, Rocky Mount (N.C.) Northern Nash - Northern finished the season with a 2-8 overall record.
Mike Ramsay, DT, Marietta (Ga.) Walker School - Walker School won their ninth consecutive game and finished the regular season undefeated after beating Mount Paran Christian 20-3 on Friday.
