Barnes and Douglas are expected to be future roommates with each projected as a future wide receiver. Both players measure out around 6'1 and 170 pounds. Barnes will be hosted by Ohio State transfer Jeremy Cash, while redshirt freshman Anthony Nash will host Douglas. Both players were recruited by Matt Lubick.
Edwards and Mann are also likely future roommates, and both are expected to enroll in January. Both players are expected to play cornerback in Durham, and with Duke's depth chart concerns over the next year, it appears both will have a chance to make a very early impact as true freshmen. Zac Roper recruited Edwards, who is 6' and 165 pounds, while Rick Petri was responsible for the 5'9, 180 pound Mann. Ross Cockrell will host Edwards, while Anthony Young-Wiseman is expected to host Mann.
One of the most recent additions to the class, Bryon Fields, is also expected to play cornerback at Duke. Fields is listed at 5'10 and 165 pounds. He was recruited by Coach Lubick and will be hosted by freshman linebacker Deion Williams.
The last cornerback making the trip is in-state standout Breon Borders who picked Duke over back in April over interest from Clemson, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Wake Forest. Borders measured out at 6' and 175 pounds and will be hosted by freshman Dwayne Norman. He was recruited by Jim Collins.
Roanoke area standout Jake Kite will make another trip to Durham after visiting several times throughout the season. Kite, also recruited by Cocah Collins, will be hosted by linebacker Kyler Brown. When he gets to Duke, Kite will play safety and has measured out at 6' and 185 pounds.
On the offensive side of the ball, future Blue Devil quarterback Parker Boehme will make the trip after a foot injury cost him the second half of his senior season in at Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood. Boehme, a 6'2, 215 pound prospect, will be hosted by Thomas Sirk, and is the only projected quarterback the team is bringing in as part of the class of 2013. Boehme was recruited by Coach Roper. The Florida prospect is the third potential early enrollee in the class, joining Edwards and Mann. A final decision on all three players will be made this weekend during the visits.
Running back Josephy Ajeigbe will fly in from California for his visit as well. He was the second Californian to commit to Duke before Darren Andrews backed out and committed to UCLA. Ajeigbe will join a young and talented stable of backs in Durham when he arrives. The only projected running back in the class, Ajeigbe is a 5'9, 210 pound power runner who was recruited by Matt Lubick. He will be hosted by Corbin McCarthy on this trip.
The remaining three commits all project along the offensive line. First is 6'6, 265lbs Texas prospect Sterling Korona who will be hosted by Lucas Patrick after being recruited by Coach Kurt Roper. Korona will likely play tackle, while fellow Texan, Austin Davis (6'4, 300) will projects as a guard. South Carolinian Gabe Brandner (6'6, 245) will likely end up at offensive tackle as well. Davis was recruited by Kurt Roper, while Brandner was recruited by Coach Derek Jones. Matt Skura will host Davis, while Brandner will be hosted by Tanner Stone.
New recruits dot the board; taking visits
There will also be two players who have offered early commitments to other programs making the trip as three star offensive lineman Chris Griffin and three star linebacker, Dominic Zanca head to Durham.
Griffin committed to Georgia Tech in June over offers from Clemson, Louisville, South Carolina, and South Florida. A self-professed engineering major, the 6'6, 275 projected offensive tackle will be hosted by David Harding. He has been recruited by Coach Jon Latina.
Meanwhile, Zanca committed to Tennessee in April over early interest from Duke and Miami. Since that time he's seen his stock go up, and the coaching situation in Knoxville explode. A 6'2 and 235 pounds, Zanca projects as an outside linebacker at the college level. He will be hosted by A.J. Wolf and is being recruited by Coach Collins.
