Recruiting Recap: Mann chose Duke in April after the Blue Devils were the first school to offer him a scholarship. Since committing to Duke on April 3rd, Mann has continued to field interest from a number of programs including East Carolina, Clemson, and others.
He enrolled at Duke in January
Both Mann and his future roommate, Evrett Edwards, will be enrolling next month in Durham, and each player is expecting to play a big role early on in their career.
"Both of us have talked with the coaches and they've said the cornerback position is wide open next year with the depth chart. We know that there's a lot of work ahead of us, but we are going to go in and work very to compete and do what we can to help the program."
Scouting Report: "Mann is a tremendous athlete. He is one of the fastest players in North Carolina and also extremely strong. His size is a concern against bigger receivers, but he does not shy away from contact and is very good in run support. Mann has good instincts and a knack for making big plays. He will also likely contribute as a return man. Mann will need to continue to work on his technique, but should play early in college." - Michael Clark, Scout.com
- Closing Speed
- Burst out of breaks
Areas for Improvement:
- Backpedal Quickness
Projected 2013 Role: Like Edwards, Mann enrolled at Duke early with an eye on playing in 2013. Given his speed and strength, Mann is a good bet to challenge for the open cornerback position opposite of Cockrell, as well as factoring in for special teams assignments.
