Duke earns Midwest region's No. 2 seed

The Blue Devils will open the 2013 NCAA Tournament against 15 seeded Albany.

After posting a 27-5 overall record, but losing in the first round of the ACC Tournament to Maryland, the Blue Devils dropped from the presumptive favorite to land the overall No. 1 seed to the Midwest region's number two.

The reward is a first round match up against Albany.

Should Duke get past the Great Danes, they will face the winner of Creighton and Cincinnati. Creighton, of course, features Doug McDermott, a 6-foot-8 small forward who averaged 23.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.

The remainder of the bottom half of the bracket features Michigan State, Memphis, and the winner of Middle Tennessee State and St.

At the top of the bracket, things don't get much easier as the tournament's top overall seed, Louisville awaits. Joining the Cardinals are Colorado State, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Oregon, St. Louis, and New Mexico State.

Duke will begin the journey to Atlanta in Philadelphia. The Sweet 16 and Elite Eight rounds will take place in Indianapolis.
