Simmons gets 2015's first offer

The class of 2015 is going to be taking shape as far as the Duke recruiting radar goes over the coming weeks and months. However, the first offer in the class has happened, and it's to a player who will challenge for the top spot in the rising junior class.

Five star power forward Ben Simmons, a 6-foot-9, 215 pound prospect from Montverde (Fla.) Academy tweeted out the news of three new offers on Sunday night.

"The University of Washington , Duke and LSU offered today," wrote Simmons.

Simmons becomes the first confirmed offer from the recruiting class of 2015. Previously he told TDD his plan was to step away from the recruiting process while visiting his family in Australia over the summer.

The Blue Devils have been tracking Simmons for quite a while, and the talented player had taken notice, and formed some opinions of the Duke program.

"Growing up I definitely followed Duke," Simmons said in a recent interview. "They had my favorite color, and then they started getting great players every single year. I don't even remember when I started watching them, but my favorite player was definitely Austin Rivers."

Before the re-evaluation of the rising junior class, Simmons was considered a five star prospect and the nation's No. 4 power forward.
