Four Star C "Honored" By Duke Offer

Goodluck Okonoboh (6'9, 220, 4*) says the offer from Coach K was big for him.

While many Blue Devil fans have tracked the nation's top overall big man, Jahlil Okafor, the Duke coaching staff has also been making an effort with Wilbraham (Mass.) center Goodluck Okonoboh, offering the four-star center in mid-June.

"I was very humbled by that offer," Okonoboh told's Josh Gershon. "Everybody knows Coach K; he's one of the coaches that everybody looks up to in basketball. It was a very humbling experience."

Okonoboh was originally a member of the class of 2013, but moved back a year and transferred from Tilton to Wilbraham (MA) Wilbraham & Monson Academy. While there have been rumors of a possible move back to 2014 as part of various recruiting pitches, it appears as though the 6-foot-10, 220-pounder is going to stay put and work on his game.

So far he has offers from Duke, UCLA, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Maryland, UCONN, Gonzaga, Providence, Cincinnati, Marquette, Indiana, Minnesota, Florida, and NC State among others. A list reduction is expected after the camp season.

"I'm still wide open," he said. "I'm getting interest from a lot of people right now but I'm going to wait until the end of July before cutting my list. I'm not in any rush."

When Okonoboh does enter decision making mode, he knows what he'll be looking for in a school.

"I'd like a school from a development standpoint, a place that will get me better every day," Okonoboh said. "I want to win games, so a school that is going to win and a school that I can help win. Also, a place that will help reach my ultimate goal, which is playing at the next level."
