Okafor may not narrow list before decision

The top big man target in 2014, Jahlil Okafor, has been extremely busy this summer. The five star center has represented his country, battled injuries, and is now back on the court with his AAU team, the Mac Irvin Fire. Away from the court he's also narrowed his list and inched closer to a decision.

This week Okafor told Scout.com that the list of schools being considered remains at eight - just as it has throughout the late spring and summer. Those eight schools are Duke, Arizona, Ohio State, Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan State, Illinois, and Baylor. Okafor has indicated that the list is unlikely to grow, but it also may not shrink before a decision comes down.

"Nothing is really new with recruiting," he said. "I have my list of eight right now and that's really where I'm at with recruiting.

"I may or may not cut it down again. I might just make a decision from there."

By being part of so many teams, Okafor has enjoyed the opportunity to try different approaches to the game, while playing different roles. It's something that has assisted in his evaluation of the different programs.

"I feel like I can fit into any system," he said.

Okafor will take his first official visit to Baylor in late August.
