Duke in final eight for five star center

Myles Turner, the fastest rising big man in the Class of 2014 this spring and summer, has narrowed his list of colleges to eight. The Duke Blue Devils have made the cut for the 7-footer.

After being unranked by most major recruiting services in the early spring, Texas big man Myles Turner saw his recruiting stock explode with more than 60 schools eventually extending a scholarhsip offer.

A month ago Turner announced his list had been reduced down to a more manageable 25 schools - all of them being high majors. Now, as the summer begins to slip away, the seven footer has reduced his list to a final eight.

Duke is on that final list along with Louisville, Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, and Texas.

"Overall, my parents told me to do my research, the academics, the system and the school," Turner said recently. "They want me to make sure I am doing my homework and I have been."

Turner is ranked as the No. 5 player in the Class of 2014 overall and the second-best center, according to Scout.com.
