Future Blue Devils: Week 5

As the 2013 high school football season continues throughout the country, TDD runs down the performances of each of the future Blue Devils in the class of 2014.

Tinashe Bere, LB, Cincinnati (OH) Sycamore: The Aviators moved to 4-0 on the season with a 33-5 victory over Middletown. Bere and the defense overcame very tough and rainy conditions to hold the Middies to just a field goal on the evening.

Zavier Carmichael, LB, Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul's: Make it three straight victories for St. Paul's after Friday night's 40-7 win over Gulf Shores High. Carmichael and the rest of the Saints' defense held on to the shutout until the reserves came onto the field in the fourth quarter with St. Paul's leading 40-0.

Zach Harmon, OL, Toledo (OH) Central Catholic: Central Catholic won 21-14 over Whitmer on Friday. As reported last week, Zach Harmon suffered a broken neck and is out for the season after surgery. Harmon is expected to make a full recovery and be ready to go at Duke in the Fall.

Christian Harris, OL, Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill: Collins Hill enjoyed a bye week and sit at 3-0 on the season.

Davis Koppenhaver, TE, Newhall (Calif.) Hart: Hart moved to 3-0 on the season with a convincing 56-7 victory over Ridgeview. Koppenhaver recored a pair of catches for 44 yards on the evening.

Johnathan Lloyd, ATH, Graham (N.C.) Southern Alamance: Lloyd scored three times (runs of 5, 24, and 30 yards) on the ground while racking up 132 yards on 19 attempts. Lloud also passed for 273 yards and another two scores through the air.

Tripp McNeill, OL, Mocksville (N.C.) Davie County: The War Eagles got back on track with a huge win over Thomasville High on Friday night. McNeill and the offensive line helped tailback Cade Carney run wild on Thomasville en route to a 36-0 lead after two and a half quarters.

Zach Muniz, CB, St. Louis, (MO) Christian Brothers: CBC roiled to a 49-29 win over Lindbergh on Friday night. The game was close through the third quarter with CBC leading by just a touchdown. However, the team would score 21 points in 2:30 of game time to put the contest out of reach.

Nicodem Pierre, QB, Miami (Fla.) Coral Reef: A week after being blown out but a nationally ranked opponent, Coral Reef rebounded with a 21-20 victory over Killian in overtime. Pierre was responsible for the game winning score, keeping the ball for a two yard run on what turned out to be the winning score. Coral Reef (3-1) did not score in the first three quarters, but the Barracudas rallied for 14 points in the fourth quarter and seven in overtime for the victory. Highlights:

Jake Sanders, OL, Carrollton (Ga.) Carrollton: Carrollton enjoyed a bye week after starting the season 3-0.

Alonzo Saxton, CB, Columbus (OH) Bishop Hartley: Bishop Hartley moved to 3-1 on the season with a 20-7 victory over St. Charles High. Saxton, who was named to the Team USA all-star game, recorded a pair of tackles and one interception on the night.

Kameron Schroeder, OL, Elk Grove (Calif.) Cosumnes Oaks: After enjoying a bye week last week, Elk Grove returned to action against Franklin High. Unfortunately the hosts couldn't match Franklin's fire power, losing 28-7.
