Player Reactions: Duke beats Virginia Tech

The Blue Devils earned a historic victory on Saturday by downing nationally ranked Virginia Tech on the Hokies' home field. Several of program's future players were glued to their respective televisions. Here's some of the reaction as relayed to TDD.

Johnathan Lloyd: "It was a great win for Duke! I'm excited that we are going bowling again, and I can't wait to join the action in January! Go Duke!"

Shaun Wilson: "It was definitely a great, great win for the program. We were predicted to lose, but any team can be beaten on any given night. Those Duke boys really came to play and it showed because we got the win and are bowl eligible!"

Davis Koppenhaver: "That was just a crazy game! Coach Cut talks about how Duke Football is on the rise, and beating Virginia Tech on the road provides proof of that. Who knows, maybe we'll get into the top 25 this week!"

Chris Taylor: "Man…that game was crazy! I'm so proud to be a Blue Devil and it shows what direction our program is headed in. They are laying the foundation for years to come this season. It's happening brick by brick, and win by win. I can't wait to be apart of it."

Nicodem Pierre: "It was a good game to watch because you can see the beginning of things for the program. The offense started slow, but the defense kept making plays to keep them in it. Then, in the second, to finally get on the board… The defense played a really good game and showcased how to keep fighting to pull out the win. I love where the program is heading, and am excited to be part of something like this."

Zach Harmon: "I was very impressed with Duke on Saturday! They beat themselves a little bit early on, but they were able to be resilient and kept fighting. They deserved that win."

Zach Muniz: "It was a great game and a great win for Duke yesterday. To be on the road against a ranked team and to win like that just shows the talent and heart we have. It showed what the players and coaches have put into this year, and how committed they are to making something special out of Duke football."
