The loss snapped a 35 game win streak for Tyus Jones and Apple Valley, and dropped the Eagles to 5-1 on the season.
Apple Valley's roster lacked anyone with the requisite size to deal with 6-foot-11, 265 pound Okafor, who logged dunk after dunk as the Dolphins began to pull away midway through the first half. Much of the separation occurred while Jones seemed intent of being a distributor instead of scorer.
In the second half, however, Jones moved off the ball and immediately began to find his range. The 6-foot-1 guard scored 25 second half points to finish with 29 points, five rebounds, and six assists.
Okafor and Jones will join Texas product Justise Winslow and Florida's Grayson Allen in Durham next year. The quartet is considered the nation's top recruiting class with Winslow being a five star small forward and Allen a four star scoring guard.
