Four star RB talks top schools; favors Duke

Southern Guilford (Greensboro, NC) running back Reggie Gallaspy released his top five over the weekend. Gallaspy breaks down his top five with Scout.com, and discusses the schools that are on the outside looking in.

Reggie Gallaspy is one of the top running backs in the 2015 class. On Saturday night, the 6-foot-2, 200 pounder decided to reveal his first top five list.

"Duke, North Carolina, North Carolina State, West Virginia, and Virginia," tweeted out Gallaspy. "It is in order."

Gallaspy discusses what he liked about each of the five schools.

Duke: I really like the education since it is one of the top schools in the nation, and education is number one on my list in this recruiting process. So that's the reason why I put them in as number one.

UNC: The've showed me a lot of interest, and they really want me in their program. Education is there, and I really like the school.

N.C. State: I've been to N.C. State a lot I've been to a couple of games. It is a real good school education wise, and it is closer to home.

West Virginia: I have not visited the school yet. I am visiting the school sometime during the summer or sometime before my junior year is up. The tradition there is what I really like about it. I am trying to learn more about the school.

Virginia: It was a beautiful campus and everything. The education is there. I went to the Virginia/Oregon game, and it was a great atmosphere.

Although, the Southern Guildford High standout released this top five on Saturday, it doesn't mean other schools can't make the list or that a school can't move up or down the list.

"ECU can also be in the top five, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech can also be in the top five," he explained. "It is a revolving door. More teams can come along, some can leave, it could change. Schools that are at number five could be number one . I still need to go to some schools. I just wanted to put out something to show where my mind was at right now."

Gallaspy had over 1700 yards rushing this season, averaging just over six yards a carry; and the running back's recruitment has the potential to heat up very quickly in the next few months.

"Illinois recently offered," he said. "Auburn, they are feeling like they are close to offering. University of California, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Tennessee, Florida State and Clemson also (close to offering)."

The 2015 prospect is expected to make plenty of visits this upcoming year, visits that could be crucial in making his decision.

"During spring break I will be taking an official visit to Florida State. Auburn and I have been talking about their junior day, and when they get that date, I will probably be headed out there. I will probably take a junior day to Clemson sometime soon as well. I already got one unofficial visit in the summer and that is going to Illinois.

"Me going around visiting schools, I'm looking more at where I am needed in the program and where my heart is. I want a school to need me and needs my abilities to help the school."
