Projected Position: Defensive End

Recruiting Recap: Shabazz chose Duke in July over offers from Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, East Carolina, Southern Miss, and Central Florida.

He carries a 3.4 GPA in the classroom, he bench presses 375 pounds, he squats 465 pounds, and power cleans 335 pounds.

Quotable: "Academics were my top priority. Then, you know, it was about finding the school that fit me the best. I'd like to play defensive end in a 4-3, but I'm open to playing linebacker even though I haven't played it before."

Self Evaluation: "I am best at getting penetration, making tackles in the backfield, and getting pressure on the quarterback right now, but I know I can get a lot better."


Projected 2014 Season Status: Shabazz will redshirt during his first season in Durham.
