Commit Profile: Kameron Schroeder

As the class of 2014 signs their national letters of intent, we run down each signee's recruiting process and look back at what it took for the Blue Devils to earn his commitment. Next up is California offensive lineman Kameron Schroeder.

Name: Kameron Schroeder

School: Cosumnes Oaks HS (Elk Grove, CA)

Ht/Wt/40: 6-foot-6 / 270lbs / 5.1

Projected Position: Offensive Tackle

Recruiting Recap: Schroeder picked Duke over offers from Arizona State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, and Washington State.

Quotable: "The wildest thing was that after I committed to Duke, other schools really picked up their recruiting of me. But, every time I come out to Duke I realized how great a fit it is for me and my family. The quality of kids we are bringing in every year, the great coaching staff, great education, and the beautiful campus, along with the great facilities make me excited to part of this."

"I'm looking forward to getting to Duke, and I talk to Coach Latina once a week at this point. I believe the playbook and workout plans will be getting here soon. They are projecting me to play left tackle."

"I think it's a great fit in terms of a life decision, education, football, alumni, prestige, his major and the guys he'll be associated with," - Cosumnes Oaks head coach Ryan Gomes.

"I think it's clear that everyone has bought in. Against Miami they did a great job running the ball, and I was excited for them. I feel everyone is willing to put in the work to win. It was such great win and step forward for Duke football, and I'm excited to be a part of it." - Schoreder after Duke beat Miami

Self Evaluation: "Right now I play offensive tackle and defensive end for my high school team, but Duke has recruited me to play left tackle. I'd say my biggest strengths at this time are my athleticism and my ability to finish plays out. I think that will translate to the next level."

"Coach Cutcliffe said he saw athleticism, aggressiveness, and an ability to finish in me. He also said liked that I am a high caliber academic student and high character football player."

"I am looking to improve my leadership skills and to continue to refine some of the more finite points of my technique. Of course you can always be bigger, faster, and stronger as well. For the next level I feel that I am continued to refine things and I'll need to take my work ethic, competitiveness, athleticism, and aggressiveness to Duke."

Projected 2014 Season Status: Schroeder has already confirmed he will redshirt for the 2014 season.
