Recruiting: Duke COMMIT (Dec 27)
Notable: Rated as a three star prospect by Scout.com
Boyce, who claimed offers from Nebraska, Central Florida, Illinois, Louisville, and North Carolina State, said he was enjoying the recruiting process, but the relationship with the Duke program was too much to overcome. "I would say I'm really solid to Duke. The coaching staff has been there for me since day one of the recruiting process. They got past the issue of my size and realized that it's not all about being the prototypical size, and the amount of heart and work ethic of a player can be just as important as his love of the game."
Boyce currently measures out at 6-foot-0 and 250 pounds and says he knows he'll have to add strength and weight, but he'll also have to study and perfect technique as well. <"P> I think one of the biggest adjustments I'll have to make is staying low and being aware of my pad level. I do think I am very quick off the ball, and I'm strong as an ox as well. I also think I have really active and good hands."
Scouting Report: A bit undersized, Boyce makes up for it with an explosive first step and level of tenacity that truly sets him apart. Already a weight room warrior, Boyce uses his lower body to drive though and past blockers and opposing backs.
Quotable: ""Everyone has been sleeping on Duke for a while, but this year Duke really showed what the future holds for those of us who are there. With Duke winning out and then competing against Florida State in the ACC Championship Game really shows a lot and I think a lot of guys here in Florida are taking notice." - Brandon Boyce
