The official Duke roster for the 2014-2015 season has been released with some notable changes occurring...
The highly rated quartet of freshmen have arrived on campus to begin classes and take part in various summer workout and pickup sessions. They've also checked in with the SID to have height and weight listed.
Jahlil Okafor, the consensus high school player of the year, will wear number 15 and measured out at 7-feet and 265 pounds. Those in attendance at the various camps taking place this summer report the big man looks to be in much better shape than during his high school season, and his mobility is at a high level.
Tyus Jones and Justise Winslow enrolled after helping the U-18 Team USA group to another gold medal last month. Jones, who figures to challenge senior Quinn Cook for the starting point guard position, measured out at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds while Winslow checked in at 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds. Jones, will wear number 5 while Winslow will wear #12.
The fourth member of the freshman class, Grayson Allen, is likely to battle with junior Rasheed Sulaimon and sophomore Matt Jones for time on the wing. The Florida native checked in at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds. He will wear number 3.
While the foursome is grabbing all the headlines, former Rice big man Sean Obi has also arrived for his redshirt season. Obi is listed at 6-foot-9 and 265 pounds and will wear number 34. Over the next year the Nigeria native will focus on battling Okafor and Marshall Plumlee inside during practice.
Duke also added Raleigh area walk-on Sean Kelly to the squad this season. Kelly is the younger brother of former Blue Devil Ryan Kelly. Over the last three seasons he served as a student manager for the team. Kelly will wear number 42.
