Duke-Notre Dame Four Game Series Announced

The Blue Devils will travel to South Bend during the 2016 season; host Irish in 2019

DURHAM, N.C. – Four football games between Duke and Notre Dame were announced by the ACC Office on Tuesday afternoon. The Blue Devils and Fighting Irish will meet in 2016, 2019, 2020 and 2023 as part of Notre Dame’s agreement to play an average of five ACC opponents each season over a 12-year span.

Duke will travel to face Notre Dame in 2016 (Sept. 24) and 2020 (Date TBA) while hosting the Fighting Irish in 2019 (Nov. 9) and 2023 (Date TBA).

The Blue Devils and Fighting Irish have met four times on the gridiron, with Notre Dame holding a 3-1 series advantage. Duke’s lone win in the series came in the form of a 37-13 decision in Durham in 1961. Notre Dame’s three wins – all in South Bend – came in 1958 (9-7), 1966 (64-0) and 2007 (28-7).
