NOTES

1. The Blue Devils have no changes from the last week’s game against Pittsburgh, suggesting the injury report should be more/less clear come Thursday.

2. Duke enters Saturday’s game with a 7-1 overall record and 3-1 mark in the ACC. The Blue Devils are 17-1 with Anthony Boone under center as the starting quarterback.

3. The Blue Devil safeties have been putting up big numbers this year. Jeremy Cash is the only ACC player to rank among the league’s top seven in tackles per game (5th/9.50), interceptions per game (T-7th/0.25) and forced fumbles per game (2nd/0.38). Meanwhile, DeVon Edwards is the only ACC player ranked within the top six in the league in tackles per game (T-6th), passes defended per game (T-5th) and fumbles forced per game (T-6th).

4. Shaquille Powell has saved his best work of the season for conference games, averaging 55.33 yards per con- test and 6.92 yards a rush.

5. Junior kicker Ross Martin is one of five FBS kickers without a miss this season. Of the five, only Maryland’s Brad Craddock (14) has more field goal attempts than Martin’s 11.

6. Kick returner DeVon Edwards returned a fourth quarter kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown last Saturday at Pittsburgh to put the Blue Devils ahead 38-31. It was Edwards’ third career kickoff return for a touchdown, tied with Randy Jones (1990-93) for the most in Duke history. Last season, Edwards earned the nickname Mr. November from his teammates after returning kickoffs for scores against N.C. State and North Carolina.
