Rahming Ready For Duke; Commitment Solid?

Ever since he committed to Duke, Georgia slot receiver T.J. Rahming has been recruited by at least one Pac 12 program. So much so that the future Blue Devil was expected to be in California this weekend…but, instead, he’ll be in Durham on Saturday. But how committed is he?

“I’m taking my official visit to Duke this weekend, December 12-14,” said Powder Springs (GA) McEachern standout T.J. Rahming. “I might visit California sometime in January. The coaches confined that 12 of the commits are coming for visits this weekend.”

Rahming, who chose Duke over offers from Cal, Cincinnati, Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Wake Forest, says the Bears have remained constant in their recruitment, but he is committed to remaining a Blue Devil.

“I’m 100 percent committed to Duke,” he explained. “They are projecting me to play just like Jamison Crowder. Coach Faris came to my school recently to talk to me about their plans for me and to just remind me of their vision.”

And what is that vision?

“They want me to come in and play early. They believe I can be a big factor the day I step on campus.”

Rahming says he currently measures out at 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds with a 4.41 laster timed forty yard dash at the NFTC combine. His personal best stop watch time is a sizzling 4.34 seconds. His combination of speed and agility made him a matchup nightmare as a junior.

“I finished my season with 70 receptions for 1,546 yards and 23 touchdowns - two of them were punt returns.”

Following his visit to Durham this weekend, Rahming says he’ll start planning for National Signing Day.

“We’re not sure how we’re going to do it, but it’ll definitely be a celebration to sign.”

Following that, Rahming will receive his copy of the Duke playbook and will then start preparing to enroll at Duke. When he arrives, he knows which number he’d like to wear.

“Really, I’d like to be number three just because I’m my mom’s third child. She was very helpful to my recruitment with my dad and my brother. They all kept reminding me how truly blessed I am for the opportunity, and to make sure I take full advantage of it. When I committed they were extremely happy and just more thankful than anything because it means I can continue to follow my dream at the next level.
