Three Star Speedy CB Commits
Jeremy McDuffie announced his commitment to the world this morning on Twitter, becoming 17th verbal commitment from the class of 2015.
The three star defensive back, who is considered the fifth best CB in Georgia, chose Duke over offers from Florida, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Louisville, Minnesota, and South Carolina to name a few.
Duke was the early leader for the Georgia speedster, but then the Florida Gators offered and took the momentum. However, the Gators backed off after McDuffie suffered an injury while the Blue Devils kept up a steady wave of contact.
Following Duke pulling the scholarship from DePriest Turner after Turner wavered in his commitment, the Blue Devils scheduled a visit and closed the deal.
Coach Cutcliffe’s program recruited McDuffie to factor into both the return game and the defensive backfield. Wherever he lines up on the field, McDuffie threatens the opposition with his speed. He reports running the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds at a pair of Nike combines.
McDuffie holds the No. 1 time in Georgia high schools in the 110-meter hurdles this spring (13.83 seconds), a time than ranks third in the country according to dyestat.com. His 37.57 in the 300 hurdles tops the state as does his 49 feet in the triple jump, which is 11th nationally.
If the above numbers weren't enough to convince you McDuffie is an excellent athlete, consider that he wrestled for three years and swam for two. It's translated to him being a high-major player on the gridiron.
Stay tuned for more on the newest Blue Devil.
