NEW OFFER: OLB Jordan Carmouche

The Blue Devils have thrown down an offer for this three star Texas outside linebacker. Here's the scoop and what you need to know about the developments.

Name: Jordan Carmouche
School: Manvel (Texas) High
Vitals: 6-foot-1, 220 pounds

Postion Outside Linebacker; Projects as Outside Linebacker

Ranking: Three-star prospect

Offers: Arkansas, Northwestern, Houston, Duke, and SMU.

How Duke Fits: The Blue Devils are Santos’ most recent offer, giving him five before the end of January of his junior year. Schools such as Baylor, Oklahoma State, Kansas, and Louisville are also involved and believed to be close to offering. Duke is attempting to coax a visit for either camp or junior day, but it’s quite a haul for the Texas based prospect who will attend such events at Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Arkansas.

Scouting: Carmouche has added more than 15 pounds to his frame since the end of his sophomore to junior camp circuit. His game begins with athleticism his highlight film demonstrates the ability to pursue defenders laterally as well as downhill. Played safety as a sophomore, but with the added weight and strength is beginning to establish himself as (primarily) an outside linebacker.

Highlights:

Quotable: “I definitely look at academics first,” he said. “Then I want to be on a team that is competing for a national championship. And I have to get along with the coaching staff- especially my position coach. I have to have a great relationship with him because I’m going to be with him most of the time and that’s who I’m going to be playing for.” - Jordan Carmouche
