Duke lands 2015 center Antonio Vrankovic

Three star, late blooming big man has committed to Coach K

As expected the Blue Devils didn't have to wait long for a decision after extending an offer to Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Pine Crest School center Antonio Vrankovic.

The offer came on Wednesday afternoon and the three star center made his decision within minutes.

Heres a bit more about Duke's newest commit:

Statistics: Averaged 25 points, 16 rebounds, and five blocks per game as a senior for Pine Crest School.

Analysis: The viewings have been limited, but after seeing Vrankovic in December at the Kreul Classic it’s a surprise that more schools aren't knocking on his door. He’s pushing 6-foot-11 and has a strong frame. He’s not a great athlete, but he has some nice tools on the offensive end that lead you to believe he can be effective on the block. He has a hook shot and can make short-range jumpers. Plus because of his size and hands, he rebounds well in his area. Earlier this season Vrankovic tied Brandin Knights school record at Pine Crest (Fla.) by scoring 55 points in a game. - Evan Daniels

Vrankovic has a big, thick frame and is equipped with some impressive tools on the offensive end of the floor. He can score on the block, has very good touch and is a talented passer out of the post. Vrankovic is an intriguing prospect with good genes, as his dad stands 7-foot-2 and played professional basketball. - Daniels

“I think the best attribute about my game is my passing in the low post and everyone around the court,” Vrankovic said. “My court vision is pretty good. My game is back to the basket, maybe face up sometimes with a short jumper. I think I can make my teammates better.” - Vrankovic on himself
