VIDEO: New Derryck Thornton Mix Tape

Duke's next point guard has an impressive set of skills and even bigger expectations and shoes to fill as he heads to Durham.

Midway through last season’s championship run it became apparent that Duke was going to need to find the program’s next point guard. After all, Tyus Jones was not only living up to the hype, he was exceeding it. Eventually the freshman would lead the Blue Devils to the program’s fifth national title while taking home Final Four Most Outstanding Player honors.

And then he headed to the NBA.

But the decision wasn’t unexpected, and the Blue Devils had already been working to find another floor general that was capable of stepping in early on.

Enter five star point guard Derryck Thornton, who reclassified from the class of 2016 and will enroll at Duke this summer.

Thornton is expected to step in right away as the starter at the lead guard position for Duke after a tremendous final high school season. Here’s the most recent highlights of Thornton from our friends at EliteMixTape.com.
