Summer Grind: Grayson Allen
For most of last season Grayson Allen was somewhat of an afterthought. He had some big moments, but when Duke’s roster was reduced to eight players, Allen was clearly the eighth man in the rotation.
Then came the National Title game where Allen came off the bench to ignite the Blue Devils’ offense at the most critical of times, and propelled Duke to the championship. As Coach K put it after the game, “Grayson saved us”.
As he enters his sophomore season, Allen’s role is defnitely changing. He’s penciled in as the starting shooting guard, and will likely be asked to one of the team’s top offensive options. With such a drastic change in demand, Allen has put in the time this off-season as documented by our friends at DukeBluePlanet.com.
