Carrollton (GA) / Carrollton
Sanders enrolled during the summer of 2014 and redshirting while being slotted into the depth chart as a guard on the left side of the line.
Sanders begins the preseason as the second team’s left guard, but depending on the competition at other positions including center, he could eventually be pushed back.
Right now he’s likely to battle either Austin Davis or Zach Harmon for that second string guard with that trio of linemen competing for the center and left guard spot. With so much experience on the first team of the line, it’s probably another year before Sanders really factors into the rotation and starting lineup conversation. This year we’d project somewhere around 200 snaps as a ceiling for him.
How he ended up in Durham
Sanders chose Duke over offers from California, Kansas State, Mississippi State, and Central Florida.
"I was offered on my visit in April and the next day I made the choice to go ahead and commit to Coach Cutcliffe. When I told him, he was very excited. My decision to choose Duke was based on the idea that the program is on the rise and heading in the right direction."
