The Duke coaching staff has spent the weekend hosting five star combo guard Frank Jackson for his official visit, but the Blue Devils also had time to spend time with a five star 2017 prospect on Saturday as well.
Sources confirmed to TDD that five star center Mohamed Bamba made an unofficial visit to Durham on Saturday and spent the day meeting the Duke Basketball coaches, players, and staff.
Head coach Mike Krzyzewski offered Bamba on July 27th and the two sides have remained in constant communication since that development.
Prior to the July offer, the Blue Devils had been tracking Bamba and made themselves known to the 6-foot-11, 200 pound prospect, which allowed him to develop an initial impression of Coach K’s program.
“They are national champions, that’s all I really know and that they really develop their bigs really well.”
With the offer to Bamba, the Blue Devils now have nine offers out to underclassmen in the class of 2017. Those offers are to PF Wendell Carter, Jr., SF Michael Porter, Jr., WG Troy Brown Jr., WF D.J. Harvey, PF Austin Wiley, SG Gary Trent, Jr., and PG Trae Young
Bamba is ranked as the nation’s No. 3 ranked center and the fourth overall prospect in the class of 2017 according to Scout.com
