NOTES

1. Duke has five true freshmen on the two-deep.  The biggest jump after camp is T.J. Rahming who has gone from potential redshirt to listed as a co-starter along with second year receiver Chris Taylor.  Rahming's move up the depth chart corresponds with the complete removal of second year receiver Trevon Lee.  Rahming is the lone true freshman listed on the two-deep to begin the season.

2. As we noted both in our position previews and throughout the preseason, the Tanner Stone and Gabe Brandner are the two players picked to step into the voids left by Laken Tomlinson and Takoby Cofield.   Behind them, Austin Davis has moved to guard while Zach Harmon is now the second string center.  Both Trip McNeill and Jake Sanders have been bumped down the depth chart.

3. Two true freshmen have worked their way onto the post-camp two deep.  Brandon Boyce is listed as teh backup to Carlos Wray while Marquies Price is backing up Britton Grier at defensive end.  Both players bring a number of assets to the table with Boyce having proved his ability to get into the offensive backfield off the line, and Price's length and athleticsm providing help on the outside.  Look for Price to eventually challenge to move up to the first line.

4. True freshman and former four star recruit Ben Humphreys is listed as the second string weakside linebacker behind Dwayne Norman and Chris Holmes.  Ideally, Humphreys would redshirt and add some strength, but his instincts and playmaking ability may prove too attractive to leave on the sideline.

5. From the pre-camp depth chart, Duke switched positions for Evrett Edwards and Phillip Carter Jr..  Both remain primary back-ups at their respective safety positions.

6. With Bryon Fields lost to injury (ACL), Duke has promoted Alonzo Saxton II to the starting role and promoted Johnathan Lloyd to the primary backup role at cornerback.  On the other side, true freshman Jeremy McDuffie has jumped over Zach Muniz as the primary backup to Breon Borders
